Since I'm going on vacation for a while I thought it would be nice to make a little comic for you before I leave. I asked for requests in a journal but immediately after I uploaded it this idea just hit me...
Again it's a song reference that some people might not get, so here's the video: [link]
The idea that they are playing with LEGO's comes from the time that I used to build all sorts of stuff with my best friend while listening to Eminem on my mom's boombox. Brought back a lot of good memories.
And since this comic is a health-hazard due to severe cuteness there's a free cool Lyra available for every D'aaw or HNNG comment:
I won't be able to respond to comments as much as I usual do since I'll be on vacation, but I'll try my best!
This was very cute, I think it was a good show of Lyra and Bonbon as fillies. My critiquing is as follows:
-The coloring was great it wasn't too bright nor was it too dark. You made the color appealing and easy on the eyes.
-The facial expression were extremely well done, I could feel the D'awww. By adding those particular facial expressions you put emphasis on the filly side of Lyra who appeared to me as the main comic relief in this piece.
-I also found it interesting that you had Bonbon building a box. I took it as a sign of her "in the box" look at things.
-In regards to shading it was consistent and you kept in mind the direction at which the light was coming from at all times from what I can tell.
-My only concern is that Bonbon's eye in the second panel is looking up a little too much. Given the angle of the eye itself and the position of the iris' it looks as if she's looking straight up over her head rather than at Lyra.
Over all a great piece and I thoroughly enjoyed happening across it. Keep up the good work mate.
The first thing I thought when I saw this was D'awww. Mainly because I rarely come across Lyra and Bon Bon art as friends during their Foalhood. I also enjoy how you show the two of them playing with legos, making it look almost like an art in itself to pick up and play with them with their hooves.
Bon Bon's expression at the start is adorable, unsure of what to think of Lyra's creation or disappointment at her own simple cube. Lyra's clearly deeply focused, her obvious obsession with the human anatomy and big foal eyes makes the first panel with her especially cute.
Second panel announcing the real slim shady is also adorable, Lyra's eyes go small and excited/shocked whilst Bon Bon doesn't really care. Then Lyra standing on her Hooves shouting Yaaaaay! is reminiscent of both Trixie and Fluttershy, but her happy expression is simply adorableness distilled down to its basest essence.
This picture leaves me oddly nostalgic as I too first heard Eminem at the age when I first played with Legos 8-10 and I would often listen to it, because my older brother played it all the time.
I'm Slim Pon3, yes the real Slim Pon3 all you other Slim Pon3 just roll da Bronies; so won't the real Slim Pon3 please stand up, please stand up, please stand up...
